Selection Procedure:

Selection will be conducted in two consecutive stages.

(i) Skill test (shorthand dictation)

(ii) Interview.

The final selection will be based on the total marks achieved by the applicants in the Skill test (Shorthand dictation) and interview taken together, subject to the appointment reservation rule. The Skill Test (Shorthand Dictation) and Interview are required. A applicant who has failed to appear in either the Skill Test (Shorthand Dictation) or the Interview will not be considered for selection.

Scheme Of Skill Test And Interview:

Candidates whose applications are determined to be in order in all respects will be invited to participate for the following Skill Test (Shorthand dictation) and interview:

Written Examination consists of two Parts, viz. Part-A and Part-B:

The questions in Part “A” will be in Tamil.

Part-‘B’ skill test will be assessed only if the applicant obtains the minimum qualifying marks of 40% (i.e., 20 marks) in Part-‘A’; otherwise, his candidature will be denied.

The Tamil language examination will be held exclusively as a qualifying examination for 50 marks in the objective type as Part ‘A’. This score will not be used for ranking.

Candidates who pass the Skill Test will be invited for an interview. ï‚· Only those who pass the interview with the required marks will be considered for the final selection.

The ultimate selection will be based on the candidates’ combined marks in the skill test and interview, as well as the community roster.

Marks will be deducted for faults made during the Skill Tests.

Admission to the Skill Test/Interview or inclusion on the selection list does not convey any right to appointment. Deduction of one mark for each of the following:

1. Every missed word.

2. A incorrect term for a correct word.

3. Use past tense for present, single for plural, and vice versa.
